Garden

Founded by
pioneering brothers in 1870, Garden City was named

soybeans surround the town, creating a wonderful
serene beauty. More cattle are fed within the
Garden City region than any other area in the
world.
Garden City
townspeople celebrate their bounty with a
"3i" festival, an agricultural trade
event spotlighting irrigation, implements and
industry. The annual Beef
Empire Days is a time of fun, rodeo, and some
of the best barbecue around. The Tumbleweed
Festival is the event where the community
gathers to play music, eat and vote on the best
tumbleweed art.
According to the
Census 2000, Garden City's population was over
28,000. The largest town in Finney County, Garden
City is the center for shopping, commerce, and
dining for the region. An enticing selection of
ethnic and local foods is served in the many
restaurants and clubs. Live bands and theater
productions perform at night, while conventions
and seminars take place in the daytime. Known as
the southwestern Kansas
regional trade center, many events and tournaments
are held here.
St.
Catherine's Hospital provides the latest in
health care for the entire area. This excellent
institute is equipped with all the latest
technology. Kansas residents pride themselves on

system, and the Garden
City Community College gives the best in

Garden City, Kansas, showing the spirit of
